ATHENS—–The 16th-ranked Georgia Bulldogs are closing in on their season opener as they conducted a 90-minute workout Wednesday at the Club Sports Complex on Milledge Avenue.

Following the practice, selected offensive players visited with the media and said they were looking forward to the contest with No. 20 North Carolina especially now that it’s only a few days away.

“It’s going to be exciting; we’re going to attack the day and play fast and physical,” said junior offensive lineman Isaiah Wynn. “We need to be efficient and be able to execute our plays.”

Earlier in the day, Georgia’s Kirby Smart participated in the SEC Coaches weekly media teleconference and said the Bulldogs are excited about the opportunity to play in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic against the Tar Heels.

“They have a lot of really good players returning from last year, and it’s time to find out where we are,” said Smart. “I’m looking for effort and toughness; that’s what we want to create here. Our team and staff have prepared well, and we’re looking forward to the game.”
