Georgia Sports Communications–FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
ATHENS—– The Bulldogs practiced for two hours with temperatures in the high 30s at the Club Sports Complex on Friday afternoon in preparation for their coming AutoZone Liberty Bowl appearance on December 30.
Georgia had its third bowl practice on Friday as the Bulldogs continue to train for their matchup versus TCU in Memphis, Tenn. This will be the first bowl experience for junior transfer Javon Wims. The receiver from Miami, Fla., has 14 catches for 179 yards during his first year with the Bulldogs.
“This year has been a tremendous learning curve for me,” said Wims. “Everything has been a learning process and I feel like I have grown and developed as the season has gone on. I think things started to click around midseason for me when I started getting more reps in practice and snaps in the game. This will be my first bowl game so I am looking forward to a fun experience.”
Friday also marked graduation day for 15 current or former Georgia football players, including the following players on the 2016 roster: John Atkins, Aaron Davis, Shattle Fenteng, Jonah Guinn, Charlie Hegedus, Greyson Lambert (graduate school), Tommy Long, Quincy Mauger, Thomas Pritchard, Greg Pyke and Ridge Underwood.
