JACKSONVILLE, FL— Carson Beck returned to his hometown Jacksonville, FL to take on the Gators for the first time in his career.

Beck was going into this game without his top target Brock Bowers. Many wondered how this offense would operate without the best tight end in the country.

The offense looked in control and it started up front. The offensive line kept Beck lean and allowed him to deliver passes on time. Beck uncharacteristically missed a few shots downfield, but he played a very efficient game. More importantly, he did not turn the ball over when Graham Mertz fumbled twice.

Beck spread the ball around, but mainly targeted Ladd McConkey. McConkey had six receptions for 137 yards and a touchdown.

Beck finished the day 19-of-28 with 315 yards and two touchdowns.

Beck said that it meant a lot to him to be able to play in front of his friends and family. He put on a show in front of his hometown
