Terry Godwin opened the scoring with a 59 yard reception off a flea-ficker to put the Bulldogs on top on their first offensive play of the game.

Nick Chubb capped off a drive later in the quarter with a 7 yard TD run.  Chubb’s rushing TD was his 34th career rushing TD as a Bulldog putting him 2 shy of 2nd place of Lars Tate and Todd Gurley (36 TDs).

Georgia’s defense played well in the 1st quarter only allowing Mississippi State 61 yards of total offense.
