No. 5 Florida State (13-0) and No. 6 Georgia (12-1) were the first two teams left out of the College Football Playoff. This set up a heavyweight matchup of two programs angry and hungry to prove that they belonged among the nation’s elite. They are set to face off December 30th  at 4 p.m. ET in Miami.

However, the Seminoles have had many players opt out of the game via the transfer portal or preparing for the NFL draft. Here’s a few of their key players (out of 17) that will not play in the Orange Bowl.

QB Tate Rodemaker- transfer portal

RB Trey Benson- NFL Draft

WR Keon Coleman- NFL Draft

WR Johnny Wilson- NFL Draft

TE Jaheim Bell- NFL Draft

DE Jared Verse- NFL Draft

DT Fabien Lovett- NFL Draft

CB Jarrian Jones- NFL Draft

S Akeem Dent- NFL Draft

True freshman Brock Glenn is going to start under center for the Seminoles. They will be without their top five weapons in terms of yards gained this season. This will be a tough task for a freshman to go up against

On the other hand, the Bulldogs are fueled by the SEC Championship loss to Alabama, which booted them from the CFP for the first time in three years.

Jamon Dumas-Johnson (Kentucky) and Marvin Jones Jr. (Florida State) are two of the key players that have entered the transfer portal with significant snap counts this season. The only players on the current roster that have uncertain statuses for the game are Brock Bowers and Amarius Mims.

Both are dealing with lingering ankle injuries and both are projected to be first round picks in the upcoming NFL draft.

Georgia is currently favored by 20 points in this game, and that number could increase before kickoff. The Dawgs are hungry to help make their senior class the winningest class in school history and end their season on a high note.

Final Score Prediction: Georgia 52 Florida State 7
