Junior QB Jake Fromm started his 29thstraight to lead the offense while graduate J.R. Reed (S) now leads the defensewith 30.
*Fromm On Target: Junior QB Jake Fromm was efficient in the first half, completing 8-of-12 for 103 yards and 1 TD. He led Georgia to TD drives in the first three possessions to build a 21-0 lead. The first one was eight plays, 75 yards in 3:59, and the second tallied 10 plays for 89 yards in 5:34 while the third covered 80 yards in seven plays in 4:03. The leading receiver was Matt Landers (2-for-26), the first two of his career.
*Bulldog Firsts: Junior Demetris Robertson’s first career catch as a Bulldog resulted in a 3-yard TD from Jake Fromm. Last year, Robertson’s first career touch as a Bulldog resulted in a 72-yard rushing TD in the season-opening win over Austin Peay. Redshirt sophomore Matt Landers notched his first career catch for 11 yards. Graduate transfer Lawrence Cager notched a 38-yard catch for his first as a Bulldog in the 2ndquarter.
*Swift Rushing Attack: Georgia tallied 146 yards on the ground with junior D’Andre Swift leading the way with 74 yards on eight carries (9.3 avg.). SophomoreJames Cook scampered in from 18 yards for his third career rushing TD to make it 14-0 with 0:56 left in the first quarter. Cook collected the first two catches of his career for a total of 13 yards in the first half.
*Defense: In the first half, Vanderbilt got a couple of field goals and tallied 145 yards on 31 plays as Georgia took a 21-6 lead to the locker room. Sophomore Jordan Davis tipped the first field goal but it still went through to make it 21-3. Junior Monty Rice led all tacklers with six.
*Blankenship: With his three extra points in the first half, graduate Rodrigo Blankenship moved up to third in SEC history for Career Consecutive PATs made with 157, four away from second place. The SEC record is 198 held by Daniel Carlson (Auburn) with 198. Blankenship already owns the Bulldog record.
*Captains: Junior Jake Fromm (QB), junior Solomon Kindley (OG) and graduate J.R. Reed (S) served as the game captains.
