Count up the ways college football raises money and a pattern shows up fast. Touchdowns. Points scored. Yards gained. The offense gets the fundraiser, the same way it gets the highlight package.

Jordan Jenkins spent four years on the other side of that ball. When he set out to support Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer, he wanted the fundraiser to look like the football he played.

So he built one around sacks.

The Jordan Jenkins Sack Challenge is back for its second season, and the premise has not changed. You pledge any dollar amount you want for every sack Georgia records in 2026. Regular season and postseason both count. When the last snap is played, everyone settles up.

Any amount works. Some people pledge five dollars. Some pledge more. The pledges stack, and the defense does the rest.

The man behind it

Jenkins came to Athens from Harris County High School in Hamilton as one of the top defensive recruits in the country, and he stayed four years when he did not have to. Ahead of his senior season he had a draft grade in hand and handed it to his parents without looking at it. He wanted the fourth year at Georgia.

He finished with 19 sacks and 40 tackles for loss across 52 games, earned second-team All-SEC honors as a sophomore, and went to the Jets in the third round of the 2016 draft. Seven NFL seasons followed, and 25 more sacks.

Which puts last season in perspective. Georgia recorded 20 sacks as a team in 2025. Jenkins had 19 by himself over four years in red and black.

Year one

The first Sack Challenge worked, and it worked in a year the defense gave pledgers very little help.

Pledges reached $3,750 per sack. Georgia finished with 20. The total came to $75,000 for Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer.

Do that math for a second. Seventy-five thousand dollars raised in what was, by the numbers, one of the worst pass rushing seasons in program history. A Junkyard Dawg defense that gets back to form makes that figure look small.

The 2026 goal

This year the target is $4,500 per sack.

That is the number the organizers are chasing, and it only gets there if enough people pledge. The good news for donors, and the better news for the cause, is that the defense has room to climb from 20.

Spike Squad and the Paint Line join in

The biggest change this season is who is standing behind it.

The UGA Spike Squad and the UGA Paint Line are both partnering with the challenge to help drive pledges. If you have been inside Sanford Stadium, you have seen them. Now they are working the drive.

Both groups will also paint up pink for a home game in October, marking Breast Cancer Awareness Month and putting BBBC in front of 90,000-plus people in the stands and everyone watching at home.

Where the money goes

Bulldogs Battling Breast Cancer supports St. Mary’s Health Care System, with a focus on changing outcomes for women who need help getting care.

That is the whole point of counting sacks. Every time a Georgia defender gets home, somebody’s treatment gets a little more reachable.

How to pledge

Pledge any amount per sack, big or small. Two simple ways to pledge.

One, email your pledge amount per sack along with your name, phone and email address.
