ATHENS —— Thunderstorms in the Athens area shortened the Georgia Bulldogs’ pre-season football practice Thursday afternoon to just over a half-hour at the UGA Club Sports Complex on South Milledge Avenue.

‘’It (weather) was kinda bad because we had a lot of work to do, trying to get some plays in and some reps for all the players,’’ said senior linebacker Chuks Amaechi.  ‘’We were able to get them all in during our walk-through, but not during live practice.  So I’m sure we will need to make it up sometime soon.’’

The Bulldogs have dodged stormy weather all through this week, but they haven’t allowed the storms to affect the quality of work getting done on the practice field.  ‘’The environment at practice has been great,’’ said sophomore defensive tackle Daquan Hawkins-Muckle.  ‘’Everybody’s been working hard with good hustle and good spirit.  We’ve all been focused with one mindset, and that’s to get better each and every day.  I think everybody had that mindset today, but unfortunately the weather cut us short.  We just need to look forward to the next day.’’
